tofino

February 24, 2013

Back home, now.I totally enjoyed Tofino even though we were there in this surfer towns off season.  Honestly? I almost preferred it that way (even though I badly need to return in the summertime). Free of crowds. Free of long line up at restaurants. Free of sweating, free of hectic attempts to find a bed to crash on. It really let me focus on the little details that make this town different and the locals were sincere and patient towards us few tourists staying there. This little town and its people are gorgeous, charming even, despite the rain and fog.It rained the entire two days we were there with occasional breaks of sun. Because of this, I had to get creative with a plastic bag in order to keep my new lens safe and dry...All I have to say about the rain situation is that sea kayaking in the rain beats kayaking in the sunshine. For real. Not that I have ever even been kayaking in the sun, but it felt so damn right to do it in the rain, that I feel like there should be no other way!Gorgeous moss everywhere is not something you see in Southern Ontario.
I have a feeling I will be back here very, very soon.
